Rodopi Software Introduces Credit Card Security Program

New Program Offers Service Providers a Critical Step Toward Attaining PCI Compliance

SAN DIEGO, Calif., June 9, 2005 - Rodopi Software, an industry leader in new generation web-based operations systems and software (OSS) and back office automation software, today announced the formation of the Card Security Program to address the company’s role in assisting customer compliance with the requirements of the VISA and MasterCard Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards.

Rodopi’s Card Security Program will enable Rodopi customers to encrypt stored credit card data and log access to pave the way for PCI security compliance.* The program is offered to Rodopi’s licensed and hosted customers. While the VISA Cardmember Information Security Program (CISP) and the MasterCard Site Data Protection (SDP) have required merchants and service providers to take steps to ensure privacy and security for cardholder data for some time, enforcement of these programs are being stepped up.

“The Rodopi Card Security Program is timely in that VISA has set a deadline for the implementation of CISP requirements for June 30 - a security breach after that date could result in significant financial penalties,” said Todd Benjamin, president and CEO of Rodopi Software. “The Rodopi Card Security Program is a good first step toward reducing business risk from unauthorized credit card access AND enforcement actions from VISA and MasterCard.”

*Other requirements for compliance include firewalls, physical limitation of network access and periodic data audits.
