Rodopi Software to be Spun Out of Abacus America, Inc.

Rodopi Software Inc. begins independent operations next month.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., July 21, 2004 - Rodopi Software, an industry leader in next generation operations support system (OSS) and back office automation software, today announced that the company will be spun out of its parent company, Abacus America, Inc. to form a separate corporate entity. The move, scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2004, will enable Rodopi Software to better serve its present and prospective customers and to focus on deploying new technologies for the growing voice over IP (VoIP), wireless, content, and web hosting industries.

Todd D. Benjamin, Rodopi president and CEO, will lead the new company. Benjamin joined the company in November, 2003 to spearhead the spin out and position Rodopi for its future standalone operations. He has twenty years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries, including executive roles in software, hardware, and service provider organizations. Benjamin graduated from the University of Washington with a BSEE in computer engineering, and from the University of California at Los Angeles with a masters of business administration and a juris doctor.

“Rodopi will leverage its new business structure to promote advanced technologies that fit the emerging needs of IP-based service provider and enterprise markets,” said Benjamin. “We look forward to continuing our development of innovative new products and sustainable partnerships and welcome the challenges of aggressively growing as an independent software vendor.”

Abacus America, which founded Rodopi Software as a software division in 1998, also operates successful Internet businesses including Aplus.Net, a leading Internet presence and web hosting provider to small and medium-sized businesses, and Names4Ever, a leading domain name registrar. “We have proven that our Rodopi Software division has the necessary technology, core competencies, and market opportunity to attract outside investment and achieve significant commercial success,” said Ivan Vachovsky, chief executive officer at Abacus America. “I wish the best of luck to the talented and hard working team of Rodopi."
